Are you an artist, student, maker, DIYer, or simply just love a bargain? Join us for a celebration of thrift and fiber art! With shelves stacked high with fabric, yarn, patterns, tools, sewing machines, books, notions and more at garage sale prices, the possibilities of what you can create are truly endless! Here's how it works: Individuals and businesses donate fabric, yarn, thread, notions, kits, patterns, magazines, books, beads, buttons, sewing machines, tools, looms, specialty equipment - filling a warehouse of textile finds! These treasures are then resold at garage sale prices to YOU. Donations are tax deductible and it all benefits Textile Center's programs. DONATIONS ACCEPTED: April 11, 10 am - 7 pm. THE PREVIEW SALE: April 12, 5:30 - 8 pm, Advance Admission: $30/$25 members, Door Admission: $35. THE BIG SALE: April 13, 8 am - 4 pm, Admission: $3, Bag Sale from 3 - 4 pm for $5. All activities take place at the U of M ReUse Program Warehouse, 883 29th Ave SE, Minneapolis.

Kit Carson Park, Taos, New Mexico, 9:00-5:00 on Saturday , 9:00-4:00 on Sunday It's Free! Outstanding regional fiber market featuring juried vendors offering a wide variety of animal fiber and related items; including fleeces, roving, yarn, finished items from hats to footwear to rugs to wall art and fiber related tools. Demonstrations of sheep shearing, spinning, dyeing and many other fiber related skills. The Fiber Critters Corner allows close-up looks at the animals that produce the various fibers, including llamas, sheep, alpacas, goats and angora rabbits. Hands-on activities for kids of all ages, introduce the concepts of fiber arts such as weaving and felting. Contests: hand-dyed, handspun, finished garments and home accessories, dog sweater and various spinning competitions, comprise some of the other activities. There is also Silent Auction featuring many fiber related items. Live music will be provided by regional musicians in a range of genres, throughout both days of the festival. Food and refreshments will be available from several vendors serving regional lamb, fresh-made crepes, soups, espresso drinks, smoothies and more.

Meet Designers and Indie Dyers at all of the shops. To add to the fun, lots of chances to win PRIZES! We hope you discover new ways to fuel your fiber passion while you meet local fiber artists and delight in their wares. How to Play: Pay an entry fee of $15 to receive your personal Yarn Crawl Passport and a tote bag. Plan your route over 10 days to get to as many of the 17 shops as you possibly can. At each shop, have your Passport Card stamped, and check out the cool things being offered. Get a commemorative store button for your bag, and grab a Yarn Crawl exclusive pattern!
