The PWN was formed in 1981 to promote excellence in the art of weaving and in art textiles in New Zealand. Most members teach, sell and exhibit as independent artists, however the PWN produces exhibits of the member's works from time to time.

Wild West Weaving in Silver City, NM is the gallery of Hosana Eilert, hand weaver in the Chimayo and Rio Grande tradition. Hosana's style also incorporates contemporary elements in her tapestries and wall hangings. Hosana also teaches classes in natural dyeing techniques and hand weaving. Hosana was trained by Lisa and Irvin Trujillo of Centinela Traditional Arts studio in Chimayo, New Mexico.
