How to Join:
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in spinning, weaving or related fiber arts, and new members are very welcome. The membership fee is CAN$25.00 per year. Members may take advantage of the scholarship fund and also make use of a variety of rental equipment. Our library, perhaps one of the finest in the world, contains over one thousand books, periodicals and videos.

Meetings:
General meetings include Show & Tell and Programs provided by members, local specialists, and prominent international craftspeople. Meetings alternate between day and evening to accommodate busy schedules. The guild meets on the third Thursday of every month (except for July and August) at: West Point Grey Community Centre 4397 West 2nd Avenue Vancouver BC V6R 1K4September, November, January, March, and May meetings begin at noon, and October, December, February, April, and June meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

Focus Areas:
The Purposes of the Greater Vancouver Weavers' and Spinners' Guild are as follows: 1. To promote, encourage and improve the art and craft of weaving and spinning. 2. To provide an opportunity for the sharing of knowledge, skill and ideas among the guild members. 3. To emphasize the importance of achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards of excellence in all work. 4. To collect current literature and other materials relating to the art and craft of weaving, spinning and dyeing and to make these available to all members of the guild.

Outreach:
Workshops are arranged during the year on topics of interest to the members. Special Interest Groups provide an opportunity to study and learn in a more informal way. The Guild also sponsors, lectures, shows, and exhibitions to promote and support weaving and spinning in the Greater Vancouver Area.
