The prupose is to to provide opportunities for those who share a common interest in the weaving, spinning, and dyeing crafts and other allied textile techniques to meet and learn through state interaction.

Outreach:
A full conference is staged in even numbered years. The newsletter, The Woven Word, is published four times a year.
